Fashion diplomacy
has never been rich in cultural diversity at the Fashions of Multicultural
Australia. The event has enlisted the
support of 15 country embassies including, Korea, India, Russia, Ireland,
Chile, Pakistan, China and Indonesian. The first of its kind, fashion runaway
has showcased 20 designers across 30 different cultures has gathered to
showcase their culturally unique collections to over 3,000+ guests.
The top eight finalists of Miss Sahara 2019 embodied the notion of “Black is Beautiful,” on April 13th, 2019 and they were diversifying the perception of beauty at the Bellevue Venue, in Bankstown. Since Miss Sahara is the only National Beauty Pageant in Australia, the organization/pageant’s primary goal is to build notions of beauty in the multicultural Australian context, pioneering pathways to mainstream beauty and modelling industries.
A desire of a diamond is a testament to its craftsmanship—the polish surface, the delicate precision of the cut, the pristine crystal clarity, no wonder it can be sentimental when it comes to giving this gem to your beloved. ALTR Created Diamonds has sown this glimmer and reaped its benefits by enhancing it with technology. Amish Shah, the president of a forward-thinking jewellery company, made an appearance on the International Jewelry Fair at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on the 25th August to discuss the future of diamonds/ jewellery industry. Speaking to jewellery/diamond aficionados alike on his foresight on industry-disrupting technology, combined with his knowledge of consumer demand that propelled him to the frontiers of the jewellery/diamond business. It’s a pretty picture of stalls. The filter really helps.
It’s been eight years since I went back to Shanghai. It was as if time stopped and rewind itself back to 2010.
To the West, China is the semi-Orwellian superstate that has a knack for intense control over information. It presumed (by the West) that China’s tantalising soft influence will inevitably push their “tyrannical” agenda onto Australian politicians and brainwash them into puppets of their unworldly agenda. An impending superpower- in-training who is destined to surpass the US one day and strikes fear into the West. The list of idiosyncratic allegations goes on. Despite the West’s exaggerated portrayal of China in the media, it was the homeland of my birth givers, by default my home too.
Several events followed since my last visit in 2010; I’ve graduated from high school, got accepted into my dream course, Journalism at University of Canberra, got my first taste of emancipation and lived independently for a year, decided transfer back to Sydney, covered multiple events for Star Central Magazine, worked for the United Nations as an media assistant, became a “weeaboo” when I worked as the Public Relations and Community assistant at SMASH!, had multiple different part-time jobs to support my way through University–all them were short-lived, went to Mongolia for a Journalism placement and finally, I graduated with BMedia from UNSW.

If Wong Fu Productions magically becomes Australian, then Yell-oh! TV would be its incarnation. On the 28th July at the Fairfield School of Arts, Phoenix Eye celebrates their first year anniversary and launches their new magazine-esque channel, Yell-oh! TV, which consisted of film content, ranging from short-form documentaries, comedic skits, panel discussions and mind-boggling animations etc.
